Shelby county teacher accused of having affair with student

A Shelby county Texas teacher is accused of having affair with one of her students

She's not that hot, so she'll probably go to jail. The hot ones get slaps on the wrist.

When I was a kid I would have paid a lot of money to have such a "crime" perpetrated upon me.

Back in my time, all of my jr high and high school teachers wore polyester pants. Or was that spandex? I'm not sure what it was called. But that should have been a crime in and of itself. :D (That was back before thongs were invented and panty lines were out of style)

I had one back in seventh grade that had my full attention. She was fresh out of college a few years and hot, very hot. They say double standard well they are right.

I had a French teacher fresh out of college named "Ms Trip" once. She was a trip! I flirted and got a "D", the only D I think I ever got in 0-12 grades.. But I was almost 18 by that time, with side burns and smoking cigarettes in a fast car with headers and a Holley 4 barrel. I was cool! :D

It's another case of a teacher run amuck. So many of the teachers are lacking in morals department but try to put up a great smoke screen. Alas, often times the great fall comes.

True a good teacher knows how to keep a student in his/her place. LOL, just like you Tbelle! I bet you would make a great HS teacher! Students need a bit of structure and discipline if you ask me.

Yes, and once again, I hang my head for my profession, as I did the last three times. :nono:

My comment on the Texans came from reading the info on the mom hanging her children - the article reported several other mother/child murders in that same city over the past few years. I wasn't keeping score, just connecting bits of information.

Where is the heart for kids in all of this? Mothers and teachers are entrusted with such a high calling... To use LateNight's termonology, it's hard to "wrap my mind around the idea" that any adult is so self-serving. So hard for me, mom & teacher, to understand...

Texasbelle 06-01-2007 08:03 AM

It's very simple what's wrong here with these people, the mom and the teachers, they are all sick in one different ways. Some more so than others.

Pocahontas 06-01-2007 09:47 AM

It is very unfortunate that we have a few of these bad teachers and bad mothers! For the most part I feel the majority of teachers and mothers are good and doing the best they can! It's not very often that you read about the heroic teachers and moms. It's just not titillating enough for the media!
Moms and teachers are among some of the most unappreciated jobs but we do it because we love it not for notoriety!

Sheba 06-01-2007 12:03 PM

:bravo: Thanks for that uplifting post, Pocahontas!! I am guilty of getting bogged down in all the headlines and articles and news reports!! I guess we all have to be careful not to buy into mainstream media too much. It is such a negative perception. You're so right - not enough good reports out there on the best of what we do & who we are.

   Here's to those of us moms & teachers doing it well day in & day out from our hearts!!
