I am OK with oral sex, it won't get anybody pregnant.

I guess you may also not be paying attention to what these kids think is and is not sex these days. To them it is not sex if it is not intercourse. So they can have oral sex and its ok. Oral sex is rising among the youth of today rapidly leading to a whole lot of issues. They learned a lot from Clinton on that.

This again comes down to parenting and styles. What is going to be acceptable in your home and what you want your children to see and learn may not be acceptable in mine.

What ever happened to National Geographic  and the Sears catalog see bra section  Now that is how it was in the mid 60's but now we have the world wide web.

I wasn't asking for an alternative to sex, Brain. I was asking for an alternative to counseling and educating children about sex.

Oh...duh.

I guess there really is no alternative. You can't warn children of danger without exposing them to the darkside of life

Texasbelle 04-18-2007 06:29 PM

Brain I'm almost scared of you because you are starting to post things that make sense and we can agree on.

How do you explain to your child some of these things without exposing them to the dark side of life? That's a really good question.

joepole 04-18-2007 07:06 PM

Having sex is the dark side of life? What the hell is on the bright side?

It's impossible. You can't explain how dangerous AIDS is without explaining what AIDS is and how it's commonly spread.

Isaac-Saxxon 04-18-2007 07:35 PM

The only way to grow is to see both sides

I agree but our children should not be rushed into it they are just that children but when they go though the change it is time to have more than one talk about all the ways of the world both good and bad. I believe that if done with good taste that the child will pick the right path but if we hold back and wait when they are 16 that is much to late.
Good post Brain, Joe, Tbelle

Pokie, I think some of us have come to the conclusion that Joe who thinks pornography is good, extramarital affairs can be good, and now AIDS can help you lose weight is warped. :(

joepole 04-19-2007 09:08 AM

You people are the most humorless group I've ever come across.

Sounds like joepole would get the psychiatry award!

joepole 04-19-2007 10:59 AM

Warped is thinking that pornography is a bad thing and that it is impossible for an extramarital affair to lead to anything good.
