SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - H.K. Edgertol carried a Confederate flag through downtown Shreveport yesterday. It was one more stop for Edgertol - who is black - on a trip to support what many consider a racist symbol.

Edgertol is walking across the South from North Carolina to Austin, Texas.

He says he started the trip five years ago and has visited 77 cities so far on the trip. He walks 20 miles a day, six days a week.

Edgertol says those who say the Confederate flag is racist don't know anything about the symbol. He says many black men died under the flag, and that's part of the reason he supports it.

Before hitting Shreveport Edgertol says he stopped in Jena, which was the site of a massive civil rights rally this fall.
Finaly someone with some intelligence. Here's to you H.K.:clap:. It is nice when someone isn't hollering racist.

At least ONE of them understands the true meaning of the flag, and the confederacy. I wonder if Lincoln knew that his poitical ploy would have such far reaching consequences? That is, as far as what has been construed as reality, concerning the attitudes of the union on slavery. It reminds me of the things between democRATS and Republicans today: Selective news coverage, etc.

OH yea it is selective news coverage !!! It is so very sad when 15% of our population makes for 80% of the trouble. It is these state kept people that live off the public dole that are such a drag on our country. Just look at what has happened to Shreveport in the last 20 years :nono:

One southerers view of the war

If you ever have a chance to visit the Carolina lowcountry take the "Ace basin tour." You'll hear the guide use the same phrase as he explains the origin of many of the plantation homes.......
" During the War of Northern aggression this home was used as a hospital."
