Should The United States Be Involved In The Iran Hostage Crisis?

Iran has showed no sign of bowing to diplomatic pressure to release 15 British sailors and Marines detained for over a week with state-run media on Monday reporting that each of the captives had confessed to illegally entering Iranian waters.

We should have already hit those bastards

It just may be time for the USA to get the big guns out. Seeing how the Brits now can not run from this problem they need to get on the bus with US and take it to down town Iran. We don't need troops on the ground it can be done from the air and those bastards have every weapon that Russia can give them so it could be real war unlike Iraq. May be time for the American public living here in Disney Land to get a major wake up call. Bleeding hearts go get your hanky your going to need it.

If I was the commander and chief of those British soldiers, I would tell Iran, you have 72 hours to deliver them unharmed, or else we bomb your nuke facilities. Plain and simple. They might not deliver the soldiers, but they would end up respecting the west a little more.

But something is wrong with this. I think Iran WANTS us to bomb them for some reason. Perhaps it is political strategy. Or perhaps they want their new underground facilties "tested" by the Americans so they know if they are on the right track or not in their covert operations, before banking more on their assumptions that they are safe. It might be better to find out now than later, kind of thing.

Dear Isaac, I disagree with you on this issue. Yes clap for the soldiers, but don't start another war. I believe the soldiers were returned today, anyway.

Should have the US have been involved in the war with Germany. They did not attack us. The bleeding hearts should study the past in order to come up with a selfless and educated decision on the future..:p

What is a peace treaty ???

Just a pause in war :D and something for bleeding hearts to believe in. They will not stop for any reason and their (Iran) goal is to see the west fall. Peace the old fashion way

It made me a little ill listening to Blair talk on the air today about how this event could open up new channels of dialog with Iran, yada yada...

I'm not genius but what we don't want to do is reward Iran for wrong thinking and behavior such as snatching soldiers from international waters.

One thing is crystal clear, Iran (among other Islamic regimes) doesn't want to be "Westernized", and the US (among other democratic governments) doesn't want to become Islamic regimes. Fundamental difference in culture, religion, and lifestyle. It's that simple. Sure it would be great if we could all live in peace, except for one thing. The West is at war with Islamic terrorists who do not want to leave well enough alone and are willing and capable of taking the fight to US soil (as was seen on 9/11) They want to force change, and the question becomes, do we provide that change, when, and how? I just hope it is on our terms and not theirs.
