Democrats Push Through New Kids Health Plan

The House voted 225-204, mostly along partisan lines, to pass the legislation, which would add $50 billion to the decade-old State Children's Health Insurance Program and roll back years of Republican-driven changes to Medicare.

Our government is spending that in one week to police a civil war between Islamic factions. Compassionate civilized people provide health care. I think I just felt Isaac-Saxxon's sword sever my spleen.

I see your point regarding "civil war". But the problem as I see it is that the Islamic factions seem to ignore/cross national borders, as religion often does. What role does Iran and Syria play in this whole affair? If the answer is not good, then it becomes an issue of national security for many countries. Sometimes I think we are fighting a proxy war with Iran already right now, sort of like we fought a cold war with Russia behind the scenes back when I was growing up. Let's hope I'm wrong or else if I'm right, the outcome is the same. Should we be fighting this war to begin with? My observation is that a lot of Christians say yes, and most others say no, although that is just an average observation without proof. I can't remember how many people were upset over all the $MM we spent racing the USSR with nukes and space flights. But at least religious ideology seems to take a back seat to political ideology back then. Or at least things seemed much simplier.

Just cause you and I got our butt whipped bad by our parents (and we deserved it) doesn't mean we shouldn't spoil our children with good health care with "Uncle Sam" in the "Bill to:" address....

Wait? what I'm I saying? :duck:

Good points rhertz. Well thought out. A man of reason. My only point is that we can provide health care. When we've got our credit card out amassing debt that threatens our national sovereignty more than any religious extremists, it just seems odd that public officials are arguing 15B.

Point well taken. The price of war or national debt is mind boggling when compared to many national priorities costing 1/100th as much or less. Like domestic infrastructure such as bridges that do not fall....(or health care) I think the priority should be tax cuts and infrastructure (even health care incentives) followed closely by national security. Heh, the problem seems to be knowing what national security really is? I do not want to see all healthcare governmentalized however......I always want the right to choose my own doctor for example.
