Lindsay Lohan arrested for DUI, 2nd time since May

Five days after being booked in connection with a May drunk driving charge, actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Tuesday morning on five charges -- including drunk driving and possession of a controlled substance, Santa Monica police told CNN

What is with all these actors and actress. This is her 2nd offense in 1 year. She just came out of rehab 1 1/2 to 2 weeks ago. I guess she needs some jail time like Paris.

Imagine my surprise to read she had been arrested AGAIN!!! NOT. These starlets are running amuk in Hollywood. Their parents and the people surrounding them need to wake up. She needs to be punished adequately and not just slapped on the hand.

It is saying on the news that Lindsey was wearing one of those ankle monitoring braclets voluntarily. It sure done it's job uh,not. She was caught because she was chasing another vehicle and someone called the police.

Maybe this will prove to be "rock bottom" for Lindsay and she will now serve some jail time. People just can't seem to shake their addictions...I wish there was a new method proven to "cure" addicts before they kill themselves and innocent bystanders. It's a scary world we live in and even scarier for others.:(

If she was last arrested in May, doesn't that make this the first time since May?

rhertz 07-24-2007 11:43 AM

In the real word, addicts strike deals with the cops to turn in their dope buddies in exchange for a reduced sentence, even severly reduced in many cases. Police can be very persuasive, especially on a second arrest like this. I think Lindsay should not go to jail but rather rat out all her hollywood cocaine buddies and get off scott free. Sure this serves the police agenda and does nothing to help her personally, but that is how our system often works for "normal" people. I'm just looking for some consistency here. What's good for Jane Doe is good for Lindsay and vice versa.

Yes pea brain, you could say that or you could say this is the second time in 3 months. However you say it doesn't matter, it is still the same meaning. But of course you like taking something and trying to put a different spin on it. Which is truly stupid. You look for ways to to show your stupidity.

joepole 07-24-2007 03:50 PM

It's not the same thing. One accurately conveys the meaning you are trying to express, the other does not.

"The second time since May" does not mean the same thing as "The second time in 3 months," it means "the third time in 3 months."

Her mug shot:

that's actually about the hottest I've ever seen her look. I've always found her fairly unattractive.

She needs to go to jail! It may save her life.

This drug is taking a terrible toll on many people and our young people and it is highly addictive and devastates lives and families too. This is what I found out about it just using google. This Miss Lohan looked like a deer in the head lights in her mug shot. If she is addicted to this evil stuff she has a life time of rehab because she will always be a addict.

Chronic
Chronic cocaine intake causes brain cells to adapt functionally to strong imbalances of transmitter levels in order to compensate extremes. Thus, receptors disappear from the cell surface or reappear on it, resulting more or less in an "off" or "working mode" respectively, or they change their susceptibility for binding partners (ligands)—mechanisms called down-/upregulation. Chronic cocaine use leads to a DATS upregulation,[verification needed] further contributing to depressed mood states. Physical withdrawal is not dangerous, and is in fact restorative. The experience of insatiable hunger, aches, insomnia/oversleeping, lethargy, and persistent runny nose are often described as very unpleasant. Depression with suicidal ideation may develop in very heavy users. Finally, a loss of vesicular monoamine transporters, neurofilament proteins, and other morphological changes appear to indicate a long term damage of dopamine neurons.

All these effects contribute a rise in tolerance thus requiring a larger dosage to achieve the same effect. The lack of normal amounts of serotonin and dopamine in the brain is the cause of the dysphoria and depression felt after the initial high. The diagnostic criteria for cocaine withdrawal is characterized by a dysphoric mood, fatigue, unpleasant dreams, insomnia or hypersomnia, E.D., increased appetite, psychomotor retardation or agitation, and anxiety.

Cocaine abuse also has multiple physical health consequences. It is associated with a lifetime risk of heart attack that is seven times that of non-users. During the hour after cocaine is used, heart attack risk rises 24-fold.[18]

Side effects from chronic smoking of cocaine include hemoptysis, bronchospasm, pruritus, fever, diffuse alveolar infiltrates without effusions, pulmonary and systemic eosinophiliachest, pain, lung trauma, shortness of breath, sore throat, asthma, hoarse voice, dyspnea, and an aching, flu-like syndrome. A common belief is that the smoking of cocaine chemically breaks down tooth enamel and causes tooth decay. However, cocaine does often cause involuntary tooth grinding, known as bruxism, which can deteriorate tooth enamel and lead to gingivitis.[19]

Chronic intranasal usage can degrade the cartilage separating the nostrils (the septum nasi), leading eventually to its complete disappearance. Due to the absorption of the cocaine from cocaine hydrochloride, the remaining hydrochloride forms a dilute hydrochloric acid.[1]

Cocaine may also greatly increase this risk of developing rare autoimmune or connective tissue diseases such as lupus, Goodpasture's disease, vasculitis, glomerulonephritis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and other diseases.[20][21][22][23] It can also cause a wide array of kidney diseases and renal failure.[24][25] While these conditions are normally found in chronic use they can also be caused by short term exposure in susceptible individuals.

Cocaine abuse doubles both the risks of hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes.[26]

Years after the abuse has ended, many ex-abusers report a noticeably reduced attention span.

This is the Devil in powder form. TWO-Cains :nono:

Joe, I think you've nailed it there! She really never did anything to spin my wheels either, though she is plainly a beautiful girl...much more attractive than Paris, or the Britney of today. She simply has that combination of features that people find attractive, which is to say, she is plain looking. The experts, I've read somewhere, say that this more than anything else is the main ingredient for universal appeal. Oh yeah, and she has a nice "rack"!

These celebrity meltdowns are entertaining, arent they? These people crave attention like a junkie craves smack, then when they get a snootfull they crash and burn. They get to the point where they dont want anyone touching them, talking to them, photographing them, etc etc because everyone wants a piece of the action, to make a buck, whatever. But thats just the price of all that fame and glamor. Most people would gladly swap problems with them in a second. Seems to me though, that when you're that wealthy, you can afford to live someplace thats inaccessible to the vultures. But hell no, instead they want to live in Malibu so they can "see and be seen". Be OK with me if the media stopped pandering to these over-exposed egomaniacs and ignored their doings, comings, goings and sayings. Its not even real news.

The media uses fools like her to fill in the pages so they can sell their ads. It is the meat factory and there seems to be a fool there always to play the game for the American dollar.
