As Hurricane Dean moved through Martinique early Friday, the National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane watch for Haiti from the Haiti/Dominican Republic border to Port-au-Prince.

Friday morning, the eye of Hurricane Dean was located about 105 miles west of Martinique and about 350 miles southeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is moving toward the west near 21 mph and this motion is expected to continue during the next 24 hours. This track will keep Dean over the eastern Caribbean Sea today

If the tracking on Dean is right then LA will be on the north and east side of this hurricane which is where the large amounts of rain fall. Stay tuned this one looks like it could get real bad with the Gulf of Mexico being very hot at this time. Call Blanco and blame Bush

Looks like Grand Cayman and Cozumel are going to get slammed. I haven't been to Grand Cayman in more than 15 years but as I recall, the highest point of land was about 3 feet above sea level... LOL, yes I am exaggerating but it is a very flat island. Not a good week for diving in the Caribbean..

Looks like bar any changes that LA will not need another road home by Kathy Blanco

Texas has already begun sending buses down to South Texas in the event that evacuations need to be made. Good to see they are on top of things.

Yeah I guess Blanco and Nagin didn't know anybody in the good ole boys club who happened to be in the bus business. Otherwise, South LA would have been covered up with buses before Katrina hit. Imagine the response if Bob Odom had some relatives in the bus business.
