Movie quote thread

How to play: I'll start the thread with a movie quote. First person to reply with the correct answer (what movie the quote is from), supplies a new movie quote.. and on it goes.

From one of my favorite movies :)

Quote:
"Funny thing about killing a man...you take away everything he's got and everything he's ever gonna have"

An answer to what? Are you asking who said the quote and what movie? If that's the case, that quote is by Eastwood in Unforgiven, I think. If that's the answer, I'll provide a quote after you confirm it.

Oh yea.. that's the one.. no confirmation needed.. just keep it moving :)

AnimeSpirit 04-05-2007 10:56 PM

Let's see. I'll try not to pick a quote from some rarely seen movie.

"I'm about 5 seconds from being on you like white on rice and a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snow storm!" :D

That's easy. Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven.

OK my turn. "All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine"

Oh! I know that one! That's Clairee from Steel Magnolias. I haven't seen that movie in years. Drum always cracked me up in the wedding scene when Ouiser gives him the @$$ end of the armadillo grooms cake and he replies, "Thanks Ouiser, nothing like a good piece of @$$". :rotflol:

Here's my quote:
"Vectors, trajectors, centrifugal forces, and stuff like that. Do you know what those things are?"

refugen3 04-06-2007 11:20 AM

read the directions all

Aren't you supposed to go in turn? Or didn't y'all read the directions?
We should be on AnimeSpirits quote about "white on rice"
Which I've heard said, but don't know the movie it's from, so I'd really like to know:D
Does anybody out there know?????

o.k. I kind of new the answer to this one.. I remember the quote, I remember the scene when it was said. But for the life of me couldn't remember the name or the actors' name. which is why I STINK at this game.

Anyways, I went and asked the kids :) The answer is Major Payne.

LOL! The kids knew it! You should know it too. You and I discussed it a while back. If we're finally getting back on track now, it's your turn, LN. :D

Good job on the Steel Magnolias quote, Anime!! A true Southern classic! Every character in that movie was perfect for their part! Every LA groom should have an armadillo cake!!:)

Lol! BrainShashR should've known that one. The movie was filmed in Natchitoches where he lives.

Yeah! It's Office Space! Seen it, loved it, and Lumberg is a freak! The character, who by coincidence was named "Michael Bolton,' made this quote.

Now, I had this quote on the last page, but I don't think anyone solved it.

Well, there is this one. Otherwise, it might be hard to animate a smiley doing such a passive activity, but I can try. :D

Ah! That was easy. Here you go!

And speaking of easy, scarlett's quote is from Vivian on Pretty Woman. Not one of my favorite movies but I've seen it. My mother LOVES it.

Anywho, can no one solve MY quote? I'll give you a hint. It's a John Wayne movie.

John Wayne movie huh? Doesn't sound like a quote from a western, so I'll take a wild guess.. The only non-western I remember was "McQ".

Texasbelle 04-07-2007 04:29 PM

Anime, I must admit that I am a little worried about you here. You have known two lines from two chick flick movies! Most men wouldn't have known either...hmmm....you've got some qualities going for you there!

It's not that I enjoy "chick flicks," but I've seen my share of them. Even Jeff Foxworthy admitted to seeing Steel Magnolias with his wife. ;)

Alright guys, one last clue. This is a one year cut from John Wayne's filmography. The movie in question is ONE of these movies. You still need to give me a character though.

1962 - The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
1962 - Hatari
1962 - The Longest Day
1962 - Flashing Spikes (TV movie)
1962 - How the West Was Won

If no one get it by this time tomorrow, I'll go ahead and give it away. I'll pass a new quote then.

Isaac-Saxxon 04-08-2007 01:53 PM

Ok, ok I got one for you guys and girls and brain too

Now after a thought Anime you sit this one out it would be to easy and do not tell LN just let us see who will be the first to know. Ready set

" Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony."

LateNight 04-08-2007 03:02 PM

That's an easy one :) Morpheus, The Matix.

O.k. I officially give up on the John Wayne flick.. :(

I got one for ya, goin' way back to 1981

": C'mon, it's Czechoslovakia. We zip in, we pick 'em up, we zip right out again. We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia. It's like we're going into *Wisconsin*.

": Well I got the **** kicked out of me in Wisconsin once. Forget it! "
