"Divine Inspiration" in Patch of Dirt

People in Plain Dealing have found "divine inspiration" in patch of dirt

BrainSmashR 04-14-2007 12:51 PM

Now why on Earth would someone like me question the intelligence of people who claim their omnipotent savior appeared to them in a vision of mud

AnimeSpirit 04-14-2007 01:54 PM

Why not? If you see an image and Jesus pops into mind, then it is certainly an inspiration, right? It is not to say that Jesus made that imprint or that Jesus was actually there. It is to say that this image reminds the individual so much of Jesus. There is nothing too terribly crazy about it, even if you're not a believer.

And I quote:
Stromile sees it as a blessing God wants her to share.

Blessing:
1 a : the act or words of one that blesses b : APPROVAL, ENCOURAGEMENT
2 : a thing conducive to happiness or welfare
3 : grace said at a meal

Seems to me she DOES think this was an "act" God wants her to share....

Anime, my hat is off to you. Apparently you have the tolerance of a Saint. Great quality to have.

I agree. We may not all share the same religion, but "tribal tolerance" is a blessing in and of itself!

So I always wondered, what did American Indians smoke in their peace pipes? Tobacco? Peotie? Or some other weed? I wonder this same question for Hobbits who were also fond of pipes.... :)

I assumed nothing less in todays politically correct world. Or from such a respectful lady. But what about your great great grandfather? What exactly is the "peace" in the "peace pipe"? Grape Vine? Tobacco? what?

BrainSmashR 04-15-2007 05:14 AM

So the implication here then is that if god had NOTHING to do with the image, then it is neither "Divnine" nor is it a "Blessing".....

That leaves me with 4 possible conclusions....help me out Christians.

1. People are misusing words like "Divine" and "Blessing" to describe this event out of ignorance or stupidity. A genuine mistake with no malicious intent.

2. They are intentionally trying to mislead readers by using terms like "Divine" and "Blessing".

3. YOU are wrong and the witnesses truly believe this to be an act of god.

4. The author of the article has manipulated the facts of the story in some way.

Feel free to choose 1-4, offer a legitimate, alternative solution/possibility, or continuing ignoring the issue and thus reaffirming my beliefs. That Anime won't stand up for what he believes in (I attribute that to youth....buck up kid), and that religion is a hoax.

Good post rhertz. I have been just watching this thread and I am ready to post my opinion. I will state this is ONLY a opinion  This so called "Divine Inspiration" patch of dirt is nothing more than dirt. I have seen people worship crying walls and bleeding statues and then there are those who see mother Mary at certain waterfalls :nono: :nono: I am not saying they did not see them but that it is not something to worship because is very well could be of Satan. You Christians reading this know what the first two Commandments say and it does not mention mother Mary or dirt faces or any other "familiar" spirits. :nono:

Why I am impressed Isaac.

Not only is your response, simple AND logical, it's shows that you have put thought into it as well. I expected to see your own photos this weekend, not find out we share similar opinions about the event.
