Teen Gunman Kills 5 in Utah Mall

A gunman entered a Utah shopping mall and began
randomly shooting Monday night

I heard today that the gunman was a Bosnian Muslem immigrant. I don't know if this is true or not, but I would like to know the motive (or the lack thereof in the case of insanity if that is the case)

No motive to be found

They killed that sob and he will tell no more tales for that is the fate of a dead man. Maybe he just needed some sleep.

This is getting rediculous. It almost makes you think gun control is a good idea, but the 1998 statistics from Austrailia make that idea a huge bust.

Austrailia passed laws in 1997 to destroy over 600,000 personal firearms. Hunters were required to check guns out from government agencies and return them at the end of the hunting season. By the following year, homocides involving guns AND hot burgularlies were EACH up 300%. By the way, a hot burglury is when an intruder breaks in when they know you are home.

We obviously can't control guns, so what else could we do to stop the shootings that continue to happen more and more across the states (not to mention being initiated by younger and younger people)?

Anime makes an excellent point. Gun laws/control do NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, since by definition, a criminal does not observe the law. An armed citizenry is the best way to minimize and sometimes even prevent such tragedies.

If that statistic is even half way true.. that's something..

Well, there's a standard cliche to address that idea.

If we outlaw guns, then only outlaws will have guns.

Wait a minute.. STOP THE PRESSES !!!! Bravo

There may be hope for us all yet. Glad to see the traffic pick up here a bit lately. A few more opinions into the mix always helps. But obviously there are some things we can all agree on. :peace:

I am not looking for a pissing match

I do the same on this board as I do with my business and at home with my family and that is stick to the subject and do not pick up old dirt and throw it at a new problem. Yes thoughts run thru my head but at 47 I try to only let the good ones come out of my mouth or my keyboard. I do not claim to be all knowing or perfect but I do like moral fiber to stay in the forefront
