OPEC cuts oil production

It would seem the Arabs and Persians (Iran) would like to see us pay more
for oil. We should cut food production every time they cut oil. Let them eat oil
for a while. Alaska ! We need to drill in Alaska and open more refineries. Oh no that might cause pollution so kill that idea. Food for oil now that might work.

Didn't we recently discover some HUGE find of oil out in the Gulf here recently ? Seems they said it would be a few years before they could start to see some benefit from this find however.

Oil companies see big Gulf of Mexico discovery
Tests suggest huge oil field found in deep waters

Quote:

A trio of oil companies led by Chevron Corp. has tapped a petroleum pool deep beneath the Gulf of Mexico that could boost the nation’s reserves by more than 50 percent. A test well indicates it could be the biggest new domestic oil discovery since Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay a generation ago.

Gulf of Mexico

The Gulf of Mexico would help too. Anything we can do to help ourselves get away from OPEC would help bring balance and maybe to some degree peace.
