An elderly man was struck by a hit-and-run driver and as he lay dying, thieves made off with his groceries.
Mesa police said the victim was waiting for a bus after grocery shopping Tuesday evening.
The elderly man was thrown across a parking lot, landing in front of a restaurant and a pawn and loan shop.
It was there that witnesses said people in the parking lot "began picking up the groceries and taking them," said Mesa police spokesman Detective Steve Berry.
As he was checking on the victim, Mitrovich said his groceries were also stolen. "One minute it's on the ground, the next minute it's gone," Mitrovich said.
This story is bad but to know that people will steal the groceries of a dying man and the groceries of the man that bent to help the other guy is low. I wonder just how low a person can go. People has lost their sense of humanity. What is our kids and grandkids learning or will have to go through when they get older? It is sad.

If he's about to die he doesn't need the groceries, does he?

You may be smart, Joe, but you lack foresight entirely. Or you at least to pretend to.

What if the guy had survived? If not, perhaps his family would've needed the groceries. Besides that, the good samaritan who stopped to help the guy most likely could've used HIS groceries, but they were taken too.

Those people need to go to jail as much as the hit & runner does.

You are so right Anime and to sound like Joe in reverse the guy could have wanted a snack before he passed. Those people do need jail time.
