Radar Detectors Don't Always Work

State police say if you think radar detectors will prevent you from getting caught speeding, you should think again.

Well I have to disagree. My radar detector is a little over a year old and I wouldn't part with it. The newest one out by the same company as mine is this http://www.escortradar.com/9500i.htm I believe they want to discourage use of any type of radar of course so they can have more money in their pockets.

I have yet to get a speeding ticket and I never go the speed limit but I do know where the lasers hang out here.

I highly encourage anyone that does a lot of traveling to have one of these they do save you a lot of money so this $400+ radar seems like a lot of money but get stopped 2 times for speeding 11 miles over the limit in louisiana and that's 2 x 200.00 and that's a true figure.

I have a valentine 1 and it has saved me numerous times, but it has also let me down once. It was night time and I was the only car on the road outside of Carthage, Texas. It went off all right. But it was too late. Not much you can do versus instant on radar, when there are no cars ahead of you to give you some advance warning. Now I try to have a "front door" when traveling.
