Notorious Spam King Captured

A 27-year-old man described as one of the world's most prolific spammers was arrested Wednesday, and federal authorities said computer users across the Web could notice a decrease in the amount of junk e-mail.

LOL, now I suppose this could be good news ? But I'll believe it when I see it.. a decrease in the amount of spam I receive... that is.

It's early, and I'm talking like Yoda, I am.

Could it really be? I hope so...

I have my doubts, but it would be nice to see the spam go away.

BrainSmashR 05-31-2007 11:46 AM

I don't mind the spam so much......it's all those enlarge your penis e-mails I keep getting from Mom:laugh:

Spammers are like drug lords. You capture one, and two come in to fill his place. The only thing to stop drug lords would be if people stopped buying drugs. Likewise the only thing to stop spammers is for people to stop buying spammed products. Likewise if people stopped buying stolen goods, thieves would have no market to sell into.

Well maybe tomorrow I will see the difference  sure could not tell by looking at my spam filter today.

LOL, what is worse? A spammer in control over 1000's of zombie computers? Or the government in control over 1000's of zombie computers? I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of spam actually goes up! Now that the king-pin is out of the way, it opens up the doors to a new crop of wannabe king-pins. Sorry if I'm a bit cynical. But the flow of spam is like the flow of illegal aliens. It ain't gunna stop anytime soon. The illusion of "busts" is meant to justify their department budgets and convince us to keep paying our taxes for a job well done.

Isaac-Saxxon 05-31-2007 12:53 PM

We do not have "much" of a choice about taxes and the government would love to have more control of the people and they would love to tax every email sent too. Big Brother will get his fair share ;)

Getting rid of spam is easy, just get rid of stupid people that buy the stuff it advertises.
