Got a beef

We have talked about other restaurants before here but what about this? We used to go to McDonald's on airline drive. Just about everytime we ordered, our order was wrong. They would replace the items that was wrong. Last friday we ordered supper there and took it home. When we got home we found our order was wrong again, so we called them. They said they would replace it and for us to save our ticket to bring in when we came. So monday we went to get lunch, we were going to get what they owed us plus buy more. The manager said since they had trouble with our order several times for us to not come back there to eat. I ask him what are we suppose to do when our order is wrong, not call, he said no go eat somewhere else. I told him the problem is not us it is with his workers not doing their job right. Here is what we ordered: a kids cheeseburger pickles only, not hard to make but they can't seem to understand to put the cheese on it. Next a kids cheesburger plain, meat, bread and cheese, another hard order uh but it comes back with everything on it. Then there is also 2 double cheeseburgers plain and no cheese, [you have to order it that way because they don't have double hamburgers on the menu] but they still put the cheese on it. Then we have a hamburger, ketsup only, hard to make, so they put everything on it. So they ask us to go somewhere else to eat, fine there is Burger King and I can have it my way! You don't run your customers off because your workers can't do their job right.

He's right, if you're ordering in such a weird way go somewhere else. McDonalds is designed for people that want a standard menu in a hurry.

That said, I can't believe he would tell you not to come back. You should tell corporate about it:

how odd.. but what do you expect from freakin' McDonalds.. the one on the corner of hwy 1 and old mooringsport rd, screws up orders all the freakin' time. when they do, I'm not surprised.. sometimes in life, you DO get what you PAY for. :)

Happy Wednesday.

I have not had a meal from Mickey Ds in over ten years. The only way they hire people is if they fail the IQ test

We did call corporate but thanks anyway. All they said is they would forward this on to the franchisded owners who we have already talked too. So that is usless, as for the ordering it is not done in a weird way, the workers are just too stupid to understand the order. While we were there monday the manager told them to fix the 2 double cheeseburgers plain with no cheese. the cook kept trying to put cheese on them. The manager finally told the cook look I need a bun with 2 pieces of meat and nothing else. Even after that he still said not to come back. Their idiots.

Latenight, I stop at that McDonalds about twice a week after workouts (No, Isaac, it's not for me!) to get little boy Belle his two snack wraps crispy without lettuce. They haven't messed our order up yet. You must be placing lots of difficult orders like Pie. Careful doing that, you might get asked not to come back!!!!!!!:D

Seriously, though, it's low income wage earners without probably lower than average IQ's more often than not so you shouldn't expect great service. If you are looking for great service, try Superior Steakhouse!

rhertz 08-22-2007 12:28 PM

I only eat breakfast at McDonalds. I always order the same thing, a sausage bisquit meal with a small coke. Cost is $3.04.

So there is this new girl at my location and although I order a SMALL coke, she ignores me and rings up a med at $3.38. I don't need that much coke and also the taller cup is too top heavy for my cup holder. Not to mention that I would like to save 34 cents instead of throwing it away.

So I got into it with her the other day. She said the meal only comes with a med drink! I told her I have ordered this same order many times with no problem. She is the problem. I think either she doesn't know how to use their terminal or she is too lazy to back out the med drink and add a small one. But today I got my small coke for the first time from this particular girl. She even smiled for a change. What's up with that? I wanna fight! :D

Texasbelle 08-22-2007 12:32 PM

Oh Rhertz , don't fight with the girl just be greatful for the attention you are getting!!!!!!

I don't really think my ordering is too difficult when you ask for plain burgers, it's not hard to throw a piece of meat between 2 buns.:D

Hey I used to eat gas station food all the time. There was a Texaco station at the corner of Linwood and the industrial loop that had the best fried chicken (maybe they still do). They also had huge potato planks dipped in batter and fried like chicken. Those were awesome. But I'm trying to eat more healthy....

Hey Pie...I don't think your order was too difficult, but under the circumstances of the people who work at most McDonald's it is probably difficult for them.

McDonalds is famous for botchin orders! If they get it right, thats the exception to the rule. And in my experience, its never a good idea to argue with people who are makin your food. Its very diffcult to spot a loogie or a booger in all that ketchup, mustard, and cheese, which is merely disgustin but probably not fatal. If ya really piss em off, ya might end up with ground up glass in your order!

That is disgusting! Ya know sometimes when you clean out from way up under the car seat one of those fries will surface and it's been months since you or your passengers have eaten at McD's. But the thing still looks like you just bought it. So what's up with that? What's in those fries? Good thing we rarely eat there!:nono:

Check this letter I got today from the owners of the McDonald's on Airline. They sent 2 letters , one regular mail, one certified. You'll have to enlarge it.

They've messed up my orders also. I guess I'm banned too. I think I'll stick to McAllisters.

I have never heard of this happening to anyone, Pie! That's ridiculous!
You'd think they'd try to apologize and get your business not reject it!

LateNight 08-28-2007 09:06 PM

LOL, I'd have to let that sink in for a minute.. if I was banned from McDonalds.. Banned from McD of all places.. that's just funny. :)

You'd think uh, but these are some stupid owners. I have never seen any owner that would chase customers away. Like I said, they sent 2 letters, one by regular mail and one by certified mail. Our order is not that difficult, I eat a double hamburger plain, but I have to order a double cheeseburger plain, no cheese, since they don't sell double hamburgers. My grand kids get cheeseburger happy meals, 1 plain, 1 with pickles only, very hard to make. My son either gets a chicken sandwich with everything or a hamburger with ketsup only. My daughter eats a burger with onions and lettuce only. Now how hard is this order to fix. But I understand their IQ ain't high.:D:D

piemaker720 08-29-2007 07:16 AM

I have something else to say on McD's ban. This wpuld not have happened several years ago. But here it is, usually people order, if it's wrong they eat it anyway without saying anything. But my MONEY pays for what I eat and it will be like I want it, I'm not settling and eating something I did not order or do not like. For instant I don't eat ketsup on my burger why should I be force to eat it because someone can't do their job. Or why should I buy it and throw it away because They messed it up. That's what is wrong now days people settle because it's easier. Do we settle in any other business, say dentist, or doctor, or walmarts? No if it is Walmart's we take it back. Think about it.

AnimeSpirit 08-29-2007 08:34 AM

Banned from McD's?! That's nuts. I've been to the one on Airline a few times. I don't think I have ever seen them get my order right.

I like the classic grilled chicken myself. It's a very simple order. It comes with chicken, lettuce, tomatoe, and bun. I swear, on more than one occasion, they have put cheese on it. And I don't know how many times I ordered a classic and they gave me a club instead.

Peter's Theory states that anyone is capable of incompetence given enough promotions through a single company. With time and enough promotions behind us, we will all eventually reach a position that we are simply unable to fill because of personality or lack of skills. It is pretty bad when Peter's Theory is taking place at a freaking McDonald's!

piemaker720 08-29-2007 10:30 AM

The owners of the McDonald's that has banned us from eating also owns the restaurants on Viking Drive, Industrial and Hwy 80, Haughton and Minden and the one on Airline Drive. So I guess that means them too uh, you think.

Pocahontas 08-29-2007 02:58 PM

Hey Pie didn't you say you smeared mustard on the table one time when they got the order wrong yet again? Maybe that is what drove them over the edge! I think I'd take heed to this ban because if you do come in, there may be repercussions such as spitting in your food. Watch out!;):nono:

I did do that, but that was years ago. It's not even the same restaurant, not even the same town. But maybe I need to show McDs what I can do. I believe in sticking up for myself and not settling for others mistake. And if I ever caught someone splitting or other in my food I'm the one that will go over the edge. Like I said my money pays for my food and I should get what I want not what someone else screws up. There is too much of keeping quiet or looking away goimg on. We would not settle at Wal-Marts, we would return the item. The same way with Lowe's or any other business. Has anyoune else ever returned something because it was not right? What makes this so different?

Well, the thing that makes a returned food order so different is that you'll be ingestin whatever they bring back "fixed". As I said earlier, its awfully hard to spot a booger or a loogie, or if ya REALLY pissed them off, ground-up glass in your food...and they WILL do it, dont kid yourself that they wont!

I ain't kidding myself but according to ya it's kiss some a** and take it any way they want to give to me even though I paid for it Thanks but NO THANKS if it means never eating out again. I will defend my right.

Jesse 08-29-2007 06:51 PM

I was just wondering about the video of mcdonalds foods. Shouldn't there have been some sort of "stomach acids" type of solution to see how it would really digest?

LOL, I'm just wonderin how much of a nuisance do ya hafta make of yourself before ya get banned from McDonald's? I mean, they even know you by name, Pie! Just seems like, after they botched your order the first five times you'd just boycot that particular location yourself without them havin to ban ya from the place. Ya understand where I'm comin from here, right? I agree that you should get what ya ordered, the way ya ordered it, but damn, lady, the workers at that location have made it crystal clear that they cant ( or wont ) accomodate ya, so why keep goin back for more of the same? Yet thats exactly what you did, and they obviously got fed up with it and just figured if they lost your business then it would be worth it not to have to hear you kvetch about it anymore! Were ya tryin to prove a point? Maybe that "the customer is always right" or some such? Well, a given business will obviously only go so far to accomodate ya and after that, to hell with ya. And your recourse, the way you can most effectively show your displeasure with their service, is to stop giving them your business. Its that simple.
