I believe the common name would be a Money Purse Lizard by the looks of this guy he has the money and she has the honey ;) nothing is free. He has all the color and if she wants to have color she will need make up to make up for the color she was not born with

I think it's one of those tan Texas Lizards with a Green Springlake Lizard that is trying to get lucky! Probably won't be successful though...it's money doesn't appear to be big enough to entice that brown Texas Lizard.:D

That tan has a few wrinkles.... and from the looks of it he has the money purse (gold) and he is on top. I think the moral of the story is HE who has the gold rules and it is better to be on top.... just ask the monkeys in the tree!:peace: :peace:

Texasbelle 07-19-2007 04:15 PM

ACTUALLY, I don't see any wrinkleS in that young brown lizard. It's covered up by that fat, green lizard. Yes, he who has the money gets the honey. But not every brown Texas lizard will fall for just any ole fat green money lizard.

I thought this song might fit this thread!:D

When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
Starts to sing Spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding dong Ding dong
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune to the moon up above
It is nature that is all
Simply telling us to fall in love

And that's why birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

Cold Cape Cod clams, 'gainst their wish, do it
Even lazy jellyfish do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I've heard that lizards and frogs do it
Layin' on a rock
They say that roosters do it
With a doodle and cock

Some Argentines, without means do it
I hear even Boston beans do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
starts to sing Spring spring spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding ding ding
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune

The most refined lady bugs do it
When a gentleman calls
Moths in your rugs they do it
What's the use of moth balls

The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,
Some courageous kangaroos do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

I'm sure sometimes on the sly you do it
Maybe even you and I might do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love

We have some strange lizards here in S. Florida I am going to have to keep my camera handy next time I walk outside. They are pretty large almost like iguana size and they stand up on their hind legs and run like hell when a human walks near them. I have never seen anything like it in my life and when they are running their mouth is wide open almost like i'm going to bite you if you try to touch me and they run up my palm trees.

I'll post a picture when I can get a picture of one.

LOL, I went to Mexico in the 80's when about 8 buddies. One of them ran down an iguana about 4 feet long. Finally it had enough and turned on my friend and hissed at him and then the chase reversed direction. We laughed for hours. A few days later we went to a banquet with iguana ribs on the menu. Not very good if you ask me.

Florida and Mexico can keep those creepy hissing standing lizards! Pokie would run for the hills upon spotting one of those nasty little beasts!:nono: :nono: :nono:

Yeah but here it is nearly 20 years later and I still laugh at the thought of a 4 foot iguana turning and chasing a 275 lb guy!

That is a very nice picture Tbelle just how old were you back then ? :D Now being scared of a lizard is a joke. If it was a gator or dragon yes haul ass. My foot will turn that lizards head and if that does not stop him I will find a equalizer and there will one less lizard.
