I went to so many of these in south la years ago I guess that's why I don't miss it. I recall one parade I went to I must have been like 20 or so and there was a pack of beads thrown, me and another guy grabbed them we both looked at eachother and he just yanked all he had to break them. I never could understand why people get so damn stupid for a 1/2 cent bead. I didn't enjoy them as much after that and stayed in the back of trucks from there on that way if they get thrown to me they are at my feet and no one can fight me for them.

The next best thing was drinking and having our loud music playing while bbq'ing on the side of the road.

ONLY IN LOUISIANA do we do this along with daiquiri shops heh

No flags allowed along parade route

Rough Rider 02-11-2007 03:12 PM

Can someone explain this "law" to me ? "No flags allowed along the parade route" this includes Old Glory as well..

So I understand it's a 'law' .. but WHY ? I mean at any festival or gathering of large folks like this, I'm used to seeing lots of flags flying. For one, it helps others to find you.. not to mention if you just want to fly the U.S. Flag.

I don't get the law ?

ACLU filling their agenda

Just like everything else they have to do with it is to bring the people under the total control of the government. I agree that it is wrong very wrong and I think they will feel the backlash on this one big time.

I'm not really sure. O_o;; Maybe they think waving flags in such a compact crowd is a safety hazzard.

Seems I read an update on this story somewhere. apparently they were incorrectly enforcing this 'law'. They say the law was supposed to be no flags or other large objects within 50ft of the parade route that obstruct the view of the parade from onlookers.. which I suppose sounds fair enough. So supposedly you can fly all the flags you want beyond that 50ft mark, and there's no problem with "us flag" decorated chairs and the like.

what I heard anyway.

oh boy, it's Monday.

Isaac-Saxxon 02-12-2007 08:53 AM

What about the floats

They have flags on them and they are at ground zero on the parade. I wonder if they where cited by Shreveport's finest for breaking the law :D
