Braggin Rights....

Every now and then I like to compare my @ home internet connection against the connection speed of my "peers". So click the image and pick the server closest to you. These are my results from the Dallas server.....I usually get download speeds up to 16k but I guess the net is still pretty busy since it's not quitting time yet.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 12442 kbps (1555.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1072 kbps (134 KB/sec transfer rate)

Nope, actually it is my work connection. ;) The same connection the SBLive servers are on.

At home, I suck and would not even post that. :o Who is your cable company if I might ask?

Suddenlink.

I have the business connection which started out at 4k, then it was supposed to be upgraded to 9k. Well, about 2 weeks went by so I called tech support to see why my account hadn't been upgraded. When the guy found out it was my home connection and not actually a business, he bumped me up to 16.

Of course my TV/Internet cable bill is $103 and some change every month too!

Wow, I've never heard of anything faster than 8M for a residential connection. 12-16 is quite impressive. I get 1.5M at home. but the upload speeds of most residential networks is still slow (1M or less)

I may have to call and check on the status of my connection. I haven't actually been able to achieve 16k since starting this topic. Heck it's 4am my time right now and I STILL can't hit it.

Why the hell does someone need a Lamborghini that can do 200mph?

because they can afford to have it, that's why.

I suppose you're right. Technically I'm getting more than I pay for already. Even though they are fully aware of the situation, I suppose it's best not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Aw, man. I'm hoping this is just a bad day (it is raining out!) and that's why I've scored so poorly.

It's far better than dial-up though, I'm just glad for that.

This compared to the dial-up is like greased lightening, no joke.
