Governor Blanco Commits to Cyber Command Center

The Air Force is nearing a decision as to where to locate the command center, which would employ 10,000 people and transform the northwest Louisiana economy into a high-tech center.

Come on Joepole, give us an update on the cyber command center. Do people really use the word "cyber" anymore? :D

joepole 06-06-2007 11:46 AM

I hate that word, but the Air Force loves it.

There is nothing I can tell you that isn't already in the news. In fact, as crazy as these people have been about keeping details secret, I'm surprised there is as much out there as there is at this stage.

Would love to see this happen in our area, but what country is bimbo Blanco going to have to go tour before she let's that happen?

But But But, you are anonymous here! ;)

Would you give it a 50/50 chance of it actually happening? 25/75? 75/25?

joepole 06-06-2007 01:28 PM

Conservative estimate: >90%

Blanco has almost nothing to do with it.

joepole I may not always like your post but I can count on you more that anybody on the board to have the facts  not to mention good grammar ;) thank you for bringing intelligence to this board and not letting emotion drive your post like many of us !

Just seems odd because of the lack of "cyber" personnel in this region. I would expect such a center to go to New England or Northern California, etc. Places where they have cyber jobs.

Offshoring to Louisiana, hehehehe

joepole 06-06-2007 01:49 PM

People in the Air Force go where the Air Force tells them to.

So (for the most part) someone must be in the Air Force to work there? Any good civilian jobs there you think?

joepole 06-06-2007 02:05 PM

Yes to your second question.

rhertz 06-06-2007 03:53 PM

Thanks for the info joepole. Sorry if I'm a bit of a cyber-cynic. I've seen a lot of Louisiana born CSC grads hall ass out of state over the past 25 years....
