It may not be the thing to focus on now, but the article stated that if she hadn't frozen her eggs now, her eggs would not be of high quality later. It makes sense to do it now. If her daughter chooses not to use them later, for whatever reason, she now has that choice.

As far as health complications, there wouldn't be any. It takes 2 chromosomes to begin embryonic development in the womb. One is given by the mother's egg and the other by the father's sperm. In this case, the girl would not be donating any chromosome at all. Biologically speaking, the embryonic development would be the same as if the mother had the baby with her daughter's partner, a man I assume would have no biological connections to her.
