I wouldn't enjoy that too much either.
Problem being, I think if you are wanting to hear some Live music, for the most part you are talking about some kind of bar. I'm not sure if it's still there, but somewhere around Centenary College there was some coffee house that would have live music. Buddy Flett of the Bluebirds would play acoustic blues there some nights.
