I think this fits well with our brief conversation about MLK Jr.
I was raised in a neighborhood where we didn't have many black people. I was attacked by a black boy once and a black girl another time, both at the local swimming pool. I knew one or two black people in college. But upon moving to Shreveport, I have been met by nothing but hospitable, friendly, and warm people, many of them black.
I know, I sound like a trust-fund baby or some dumb kid. Don't hold it against me. I just never knew any black people or even interacted with any black people.
