Years ago, I remember the press asking President Bush if the US would allow Iran to possess a nuke. The answer was nope, not going to happen. I believe Iran will abandon their nuclear program, only when Israel or the US takes military action to set back their capability for another 10 or more years. Even then they won't abandon it, but taking out their centrifuges would buy us another decade or two. Iran thinks we don't have the public support or the balls do to it. They also think they are so deep underground that we can't reach them. I think the democrats want out of Iraq so badly because they know we are approaching a crossroads with Iran. Jimmy Carter's chickens are coming home to roost and a price has to be paid at some point.
