TRUMANN, Ark. (AP) -- Greg Vincent thought he was kidding when he told his 13-year-old son and a nephew he could use his hunting knife to handle a snorting buck that was about to charge them.
In the woods in Fulton County for last weekend's youth hunt, the group was tracking a different deer that Vincent's son Kyle had shot when a six-point buck appeared in their path.
Vincent said the deer was about 15 yards away. The guns were back at camp and all Vincent had was his knife. He said he jokingly told the boys he'd handle the deer with the blade -- expecting the deer to run off.
