News like this is so tragic. When out on the road, one simple brief mistake can cost someone their life!

I always found it disturbing that often times, only two stripes of yellow paint is what keeps drivers from a head on collision at 120+mph relative speed.

Something my 9th grade Civics teacher tried to drill into our heads. He'd tell us we were "driving 2 ton weapons" or something to that affect. And remind us how we were within inches of head on collisions all the time.

I remember, we all really hated this guy at the time, but the older I get, the more I realize he was trying to warn us of more than a few dangers that were ahead of us.

I know of whom LateNight speaks, and yeah, the guy had some golden nuggets-o-wisdom to hand out, if only someone would listen.

Maybe someone did listen. Who knows? And maybe in one brief second, a life was saved in the process. I would like to think so.

I'm not saying the people like Mr Nuggets or myself should promote paranoia, but rather simple awareness. If you are talking on a cell phone or having a drink with dinner at a resturant, then pay a little extra attention, knowing what you are doing is distracting that moment. So many accidents are "senseless" in more ways than one.
