Blanco: "It's All About Me"

"I don't take potshots at the president, and I don't appreciate potshots being taken at me, either," Governor Kathleen Blanco recently said. A graceful, nondescript exit just wasn't an option for Governor Kathleen Blanco, was it?

George W. Bush has an approval rating in the low thirties. I am not one of the thirty percent who approves of his job performance. What I am about to say is not a defense of George W. Bush. It doesn't need to be, because his recent statement about leadership isn't something one needs to be defensive about.

President Bush recently complimented California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger regarding his handling of the recent strain of California Wildfires.

Bush said: "It makes a significant difference when you have somebody in the statehouse willing to take the lead."

Blanco will be out of there very shortly! Let's hope and pray Jindal has some great new ideas for the state and a backbone!

Did anyone see Bobby Jindal on "Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace"? I have to say, he made me proud to be from Louisiana! It's about time!

I feel sure that Bobby will give his best shot. I will have to see if he can move forward with the DNC hanging on to him every step of the way. LA politics doing what it does best.

Rush Limbaugh did a segment on this the other day with this interview. He basically called out the Republicans and said "listen to this man, he knows why y'all lost congress, he knows what's going on". Bobby is a great opportunity for this state, I'm very excited.

I voted for Jindal but I doubt he has the power to reverse hurricanes and send them back out to sea. There are always two factors on the table, the player and the hand that is dealt to the player. IMHO it is not "all about me" but rather "It's all about WE" (Louisianians). GLTY Bobby Jindal! You're going to need it! I just hope the Dems don't win the '08 Presidential election, and I REALLY hope New Orleans is spared another hurricane, especially if that happens in '08......

I hope we don't get hit again either, but for personal reasons. La. coast can't handle multiple hurricanes. It devastates the fish and the crawfish industry. To hell with the political ramifications. That doesn't help us.

My business actually benefits from hurricanes. Not directly, but an after effect. The Southeast and East coast have a lot more to loose structurally than we do, but we can't afford any more coast line erosion and saltwater influx in our marshes and lowlands. That is what is killing La. along with the good old boy politicts.
