Post 3rd Annual BPCC 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, Nov 10th across From CenturyTel

3rd Annual BPCC 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, Nov 10th across From CenturyTel

Sign in 8am- Event starts 8:30a-11a along Arthur Ray Teague Jogging Trail

By Tom Pace, SBLive! Executive Editor
October 7, 2007

Raising money to support scholarships for Bossier Parish Community College students. That’s the purpose of the 3rd Annual BPCC 5K Run/Walk this Saturday, starting at 8am at the south end of the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway along the jogging trail, across from CenturyTel in Bossier City.

“Proceeds from the BPCC 5k Run over the past two years has benefited more than 40 students in their pursuit of high education,” said Stephanie Rogers, BPCC Foundation Director of Development/Alumni.
“Now it’s time for you to give back to deserving students wanting to attend
BPCC, who sometime need a little extra boost, financially,” Rogers said.

SBLive! Executive Editor Tom Pace will serve as this years Race Emcee, and we’re really excited about his support of this event,” said Rogers.
“And there’s still time to enter the 5K Run/Walk… register online at www.bpcc.edu or, www.sportsspectrumusa.com. You can sign up on Race Day, this Saturday at 8am at Registration Site on Arthur Ray Teague Pkwy.
Registration Fee is only $20, and you’ll get a souvenir BPCC Race T-Shirt,
while supplies last, as well as a gift from Albertson’s Bossier,” she said.
*$10 Fee for BPCC Faculty & Staff (and Military with I.D.) Students: $5*

With the relentless cost of living and tight economy, many families are facing the tough decision of how and whether or not, they can pay for college tuition for their kids. The Goal of the BPCC Foundation is to help solve this dilemma, and award as many scholarships as possible to deserving students.

Obviously, you need to start the enrollment process by filling out an application form, and then visiting with the financial aid department…then, if a special need exists, the BPCC Foundation can act as a “safety net” for those individuals.

The 3rd Annual BPCC 5K Run/Walk is presented by Capital One:
“Builder of the Dream” Sponsor.

I love to enter these local 5k races. They are always lots of fun! I don't run them but I do walk them at a brisk pace along with many others! Some of us should check it out plus the levee is a great place to walk!
