Post Yucktober Started By Local Church

Broadmoor United Methodist Church youth group kicked off the month of October, which they have renamed "yucktober".
Through the month the youth group will host a block party, pick up trash at a local duck pond and work with the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission.

I remember back in the day when kids went trick or treating and actually met their neighbors... Oh, how times have changed. I'd like one ticket for the wayback machine, please.

you got that right Mudbug.. however I will say, there are some neighborhoods.. 'out blanchard way' that go GUNG HO for christmas.. during halloween night, there's always a few 'block' parties going on. and the kids come from all over to trick or treat. My kids have JUST reached an age they don't care much for it anymore, but I'm so happy they had that opportunity.
and I'm in hope there are more than a few neighborhoods in town still giving it a go ??

I will say, I think "block parties" are great, and we should all have more of them :-) Reminds me of growin' up a small kid in the 70's, we had 'block' parties all the time, just don't think they called them that back then.
