Less than 25 U.S. WWI veterans are still alive in the U.S.
Was just reading an article about the National World War I Museum at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, MO.
Says there are less than 25 WWI veterans still alive in the U.S. Amazes me that there are any still alive. Seems I heard some statistic about WWII veterans and how 1000's die every day. Obviously they are getting old(er) Sometimes I think of WWI and WWII as being 'ancient history', but when I put it in the perspective that some of these people are still alive. It's simply not that long ago. But my how much the world has changed since these folks were young and fighting in a war. Have some grandparents who fought in WWII.. always appreciate any time I can get with them .. and every now and again, I'll get to hear a little story about this or that during the war.. Anyways, just that few of WWI vets remaining got me to thinking.
