An arrest warrant has been issued for an official of Louisiana Proteins after the company did not pay the fine levied against it for violation of Shreveport's odor ordinance.

I haven't smelled them in a while so I'm guessing they got the problem fixed. It used to be REALLY bad when it rained.

Ordinances exist in most cities so that I cannot park a big truck in front of another business and affect their traffic flow. So why should a single business be free to park a big fart cloud over downtown businesses and affect their customers?

I smelled it less then a week ago. The "tone" of the smell has changed. Now it's like they light a match after farting.

I think their new "filter" operates simply by heating the smelly air to make it rise in the atmosphere. That might work on calm days but not windy or rainy days. Just seems like all that money spent to "filter" the smell could have been used to relocate the plant outside of the city limits.
