I'm not originally from here so I'm trying to remember where the Joy Cinema was?
Didn't it also become an adult movie theater in its last days? Trying to remember the story there??

It was on Mansfield Road behind the old Pizza Inn which is gone. That probably doesn't help. It was on Mansfield just north of where Burt Kouns crosses it. South of Wray Ford I believe.

Originally Joy's Cinema City 3. It was actually quite nice being our first multiplex and all. I happened to be there for the world premier of The Legend of Boggy Creek. Oh, it was an event for the ages. How often do you get to see Jack Elam in a tux? The mall cinemas put the final nail in its coffin.

LOL, I remember the Legend of Boggy Creek set in Falk Arkansas... I saw it in Marshall TX at the time (summer) while staying with my aunt.

Year's later in my 20's, I remember Joy's Cinema (second location on mansfield) playing old movies for a buck. Great for cheap dates...

I grew up right down the street from that theater. Saw my first movie there....Jaws! The baby sitter snuck me in and I was scared to death we'd get caught.

Of course now you wouldn't catch me anywhere near that neighborhood. It's not a safe place to be!
