USAF Gen. Peyton Cole, (Ret.) Tells Tom Pace: Barksdale B-52 Crash “Tragic,' and, "a Rarity” 7-22-08

Former Second Bomb Wing Commander at Barksdale AFB, General Peyton Cole (USAF, Ret.) told Tom Pace, that the crash of the Barksdale-based B-52 near Guam, was indeed “tragic”, though, in his words “a rarity.”
General Cole said the various redundant systems in the B-52 are what make the Stratofortress bomber so reliable. Cole added the accident review board will make the ultimate determination as to what caused the B-52 to crash.
