La. Governor Bobby Jindal answered reporters questions, following his signing of "The Louisiana Health Care Consumers' Right To Know Act" into law at LSU-HSC in Shreveport, Louisiana, Friday, July 11th, 2008.
Jindal also commented the $4 million being allocated in the state's budget for expansion work on Shreveport's LSU-HSC Emergency Room; the current status of the Film Industry Tax Credit Bill; his excitement about The Haynesville Shale economic boon to Northwest Louisiana and the State; as well as the Chemical Castration Bill for Repeat Sex Offenders.
Introduced by Chancellor John McDonald of LSU-HSC, Jindal said the Consumers' Right To Know Act (SB 287), charges the Department of Health and Hospitals with creating a website that will give Louisiana helath care consumers access to reliable information on the cost, quality, and performance of their health-care providers: a first for Louisiana.
