Wade Duty, President of La. Casino Association Talks with Tom Pace About Future of Riverboat GamingPosted by: Tom Pace - July 16, 2008
The President of the Louisiana Casino Association, Wade Duty, reassures the gaming public, the casino riverboats are here to stay in Louisiana, but, he warns "...the end of the easy road is in sight."
He also said "Beware of the Indian Casinos in Oklahoma", because high gas prices make a 45 mile drive across the border from Dallas much easier, and cheaper, than a three-hour drive from "Big D" to Shreveport.
Duty spoke One-on-One with Tom Pace, from "The Talk of the Town" at the 2008 Travel Outlook Conference. Duty was very candid in also predicting, "...it's going to a tough summer" (for the riverboat casinos).
Co-sponsored by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau, and the Shreveport-Bossier Hotel & Lodging Association, the conference was held at the Bossier Civic Center, Monday July 14th.
