SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING: VETERAN’S DAY SALUTE 1am 11-7-09 For the 13th year, Chester T. Kelley will present his annual Veteran’s Day Salute at Crescent Landing Catfish Restaurant, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, serving free catfish dinners to ALL American Military Veterans.

Kelley, the owner of Crescent Landing, estimates that he has provided more than 11,000 free catfish dinners to veterans over the past 13 years, as his way of saying “thank you” for their service to America.  He is often told no one has ever said “thank you” before.

A former USAF pilot and Viet Nam veteran himself, Kelley, will be hosting men and women of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard veterans, as well as veterans of the National Guard and Reserves.  All active duty personnel are also welcome.

The service of ALL American Military Veterans will be honored – whether combat related or not. No special identification as a Veteran is required.

Crescent Landing is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is located in west Shreveport at 7601 Pines Road at Buncombe Road. Take Interstate 20 Exit 10, go 1.2 South on Pines Road.

Nursing home and retirement center representatives are requested to call Crescent Landing at 686-4450 to make special arrangements for specific times.
