BREAKING 4-22-11 Supect in Norris Appliance Murders Arrested by Bossier PD & US Marshals

BOSSIER CITY, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING: SUSPECT IN NORRIS APPLIANCE TRIPLE MURDERS ARRESTED 4-22-11 The citizens of Bossier City can breathe a little easier, as Bossier Police & the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Crimes Unit have arrested a suspect in connection with the murders of three men that occurred at a local business Tuesday, April 12th.  Click here for the 20 minute Bossier Chief of Police press conference podcast.

39-year old Gerald Cortez Needham of Bossier City was arrested early Thursday evening after they obtained a warrant for his arrest on three counts of first degree murder.

During his Friday morning news conference, Bossier Police Chief Shane McWilliams said Needham was taken into custody with the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force just after 6 p.m. in the 2500 block of Barksdale Boulevard when they stopped a vehicle Needham was in.

Following Needham’s arrest police executed a search warrant at his home in the 1400 block of Cynthia Lane in which a number of items were seized.

Needham is charged with the murders of 7
7-year old William C. Norris, 58-year old Jesse L. Burks and 66-year old Harold W. Arnett all of Bossier City. The three men were shot on April 12, 2011 inside Norris’ business.

Norris and Burks were pronounced dead at the scene. Arnett died of his wounds the following day at LSU Hospital in Shreveport. 
  

Needham was booked into the Bossier City Jail. His bond is set at $1,000,000 (one million dollars) on each count for a total bond of $3,000,000 (three million dollars).
