FLORIDA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, "Talk of the Town" & CNN reports 1-29-08   It was a big win for Arizona Senator John McCain, in the Sunshine State on Tuesday.  And, for the candidate who put all his eggs in Florida's proverbial "GOP Basket"...the Fat lady has sung, and Rudy Giuliani is reportedly "exiting stage right."

All totalled, nearly 2 million Republicans cast ballots in the Florida Primary, with McCain finishing first, with 36%...Mitt Romney, second with 31%...Rudy Giuliani, a distant third with just 15%..and former Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee coming in fourth with 14%.  According to campaign sources, Wednesday, Giuliani is expected to announce he is dropping out of the Presidential race, and endorsing McCain.

On the  Democrats' side, Hillary Clinton was the top vote-getter, and proclaimed that she received  " a vote of confidence" by Floridians, finishing first with 50% of the nearly 1.7 million Democratic votes,  to Barack Obama's 33%...and, John Edwards third-place showing, with 14%.

The Democrats' Primary delegates were disallowed by the party, because Florida scheduled their election prior to the so-called "Super Tuesday" mega-primaries to be held on February 5th. Republicans penalized the state as well, but took away only half of their 114 delegates.
