BREAKING: 11:35am 4-22-08 Millennium-Ledbetter Films Breaks Ground for Shreveport Studio
The new studio facility will be located at 300 Douglas St., just a block away from the First United Methodist Church in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. Click here to listen as Tom Pace speaks "One-on-One" with Shreveport Councilman Monty Wolford about the project..
Click here as Arlena Acree, Director of Film, Media Entertainment for the City of Shreveport, tells Ton Pace from "The Talk of the Town" what this permanent studio facility means to the City.
With the help of Acree, the Mayor and others, the project was put on a "fast-track" last year when "Mick" Flannigan and Millennium Films approached the city about finding a parcel of land to locate a permanent studio facility. Ed Walsh, of KTBS TV3 filed this report.
Now they "turned the dirt" today on the first seven acres for the studio's $10 million facility, or "Phase One", as Flannigan refers to it. It's anticipated the studio will hire between 100 and 500 people.
