BREAKING: 11:35am 4-22-08 Millennium-Ledbetter Films Breaks Ground for Shreveport Studio

SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace,Talk of the Town) BREAKING: ECONOMIC NEWS 11:35am  4-22-08  Michael Flannigan, Executive Producer for Nu Image Inc., and Millennium Films was joined by Mayor Cedric Glover and other dignitaries today for the official groudbreaking for the Millennium-Ledbetter Film Studio. The new studio facility will be located at 300 Douglas St., just a block away from the First United Methodist Church in downtown Shreveport, Louisiana.  Click here to listen as Tom Pace speaks "One-on-One" with Shreveport Councilman Monty Wolford about the project..

With the help of Acree, the Mayor and others, the project was put on a "fast-track" last year when "Mick" Flannigan and Millennium Films approached the city about finding a parcel of land to locate a permanent studio facility. Ed Walsh, of KTBS TV3 filed this report.

Now they "turned the dirt" today on the first seven acres for the studio's $10 million facility, or "Phase One", as Flannigan refers to it.  It's anticipated the studio will hire between 100 and 500 people.
