Showers & Storms Possible Across Shreveport-Bossier & NW La: 60% Tonight- 80% Thursday

SHREVEPORT,LA (By Tom Pace, Executive Editor, “Talk of the Town” 1-30-08  Shreveport-Bossier, and northwest Louisiana could see possible thunderstorms after midnight tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport.

Forecasters say isolated thunderstorms will be possible after midnight, mainly south of a Quitman, Texas, to Prescott, Ark. line.  Any storms that do develop will be accompanied by occasional lightning, brief wind gusts to 45 mph, small hail, and brief heavy rainfall.  Otherwise, no hazardous weather is expected.

The official Shreveport Forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms tonight, increasing to an 80% chance during the day Thursday with periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before noon, then showers likely. High near 53. East wind 10 to 20 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Thursday night’s forecast calls for: Clearing, and Windy, with a low near freezing.
