BREAKING 5-13-08 Lt Gov Landrieu Unveils "My Louisiana" Ad Campaign at Robinson Film Center

SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING TOURISM NEWS  6pm  5-13-08  Standing inside the newly-opened Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport...Louisiana's Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu unveiled the state's new tourism ad campaign, titled "My Louisiana."  Click here to listen as Landrieu talks "One-on-One" with Tom Pace about how the campaign was developed. 

Several of the sixty-second ads from the $6 million advertising campaign were previewed by members of the media, government officials, and other V.I.P.'s, this Tuesday afternoon, May 13th, 2008. 

Judging from the local response to the the series of "Celebrity Insider" messages, the campaign should "hit the mark" on telling Louisiana's story to tourists. 

Landrieu was joined by Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover, along with President of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau Stacy Brown for the afternoon news conference.

"This is My Louisiana" is called a "Celebrity Insider" series of 60 second ads, featuring well-known Louisiana natives, like chefs, musicians, actressesm and NBA players who offer tips on what visitors should see and and do while in Louisiana.

Current "Insiders" on the State Tourism commercials include: Chef John Besh; actress Faith Ford of "Murphy Brown" fame; Chef John Folse; musician Amanda Shaw; GrammyAward winner Terrence Simien; and NBA greats: Karl "The Mailman" Malone, Willis Reed, and Chris Paul.
