Obama & Clinton Debate: Final showdown before Super Tuesday- No Finger Pointing
Friday, Feb 01, 2008 6:24am
LOS ANGELES, CA from CNN (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, "Talk of the Town")  1-31-08   Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, both made nice on the stage of the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, California tonight.  In this final debate before the so-called "Super Tuesday" primaries, both candidates seemed to go out of their way to be cordial to one another.

The CNN televised debate in prime time, the audience witnessed a historic night: the possibility of the first African-American, or first female becoming the next president of the United States.
Both Obama and Clinton, spoke of their strengths...and showed their differences, without driving a wedge in the Democratic Party.

Iraq seemed to be the topic 'du jour' - Sen. Barack Obama said he'll not only "be ready on day one", he'll also,"be right, on day one." Clearly a jab at Sen. Clinton, who  touted her experience in the Senate, saying it's important to be "ready on day one", after assuming the Presidency on Jan. 20th, 2009.

Other hot topics in the Democratic debate included universal health care, and illegal immigration.  Some 1,600 delegates are at stake in 22 states, next Tuesday, February 5th.
