BREAKING 3rd Annual Water Resource Festival at Boardwalk; Coast Guard to Simulate Rescue

BOSSIER CITY, LA  (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town)  BREAKING: COMMUNITY EVENT  3pm  5-16-08  The U.S. Coast Guard, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Aquatic and Wildlife Education Foundation joined forces with area law enforcement, and community service organizations to kick off  the 3rd Annual Water Resource Festival being held at the Louisiana Boardwalk this Friday and Saturday in Bossier City.

Hundreds of area school kids toured the many Water Resource exhibits at the Boardwalk this Friday morning (Click here to view pictures from The Times of the youngsters who attended the WRF): learning about wearing your life jackets & correct water safety rules while boating...to fish identification; touching a very young live alligator, to a quick class on recent area floods and severe weather from the meteorologists from NOAA.  

While on the field-trip, the young Caddo students even got their pictures taken with "Bobber", the six foot tall Corps of Engineers mascot.
