BREAKING 5-19-08 OEP'S Sandy Davis: Waiting for Federal Disaster Declaration for Flood Victims

BOSSIER CITY, LA  (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town)  BREAKING: FLOOD DISASTER UPDATE 6:30pm 5-19-08  The recent flash floods that swept across Shreveport-Bossier were so intense, the flood gauge on Bayou Pierre in South Highlands registered a 17 foot rise in just one hour, according to Sandy Davis, Director of Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. 

Click here to listen to Davis' news conference Monday afternoon, May 19th, 2008. Davis made that flood update, along with information on when and if disaster victims can expect a decision by the goverment for a Federal Disaster Declaration for Northwest Louisiana and Caddo Parish.

Davis told the media that it was imperative that homeowners, business owners, & residents who expericenced flood damage from the May 13th & 14th storms document their damage. 

Davis also gave a list of what disaster victims can, and can not expect from the goverment in the coming weeks.  He also provided an assessment of the number of homes and businesses reporting damage (some 280+) he said. 

Most importantly, Davis a checklist of what you should do as you cleanup the damage to your homes and property.
