WX UPDATE 5-26-08 Twisters Rake Midwest: 7 Dead in Iowa & Minnesota- 400 Homes Demolished

MIDWEST, USA  From CNN (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town)  BREAKING WX:  12:15pm  5-26-08   Mother Nature unleashed her fury again Sunday night, with another round of devastating tornadoes across the Midwest. According to CNN, 6 people are now reported dead in Iowa, while a two year old child was killed in Minnesota. Several hundred homes are reported demolished across both states.

A Butler County, Iowa, dispatcher confirmed a touchdown in Parkersburg, population 2,000, in central Iowa. She said several people were trapped in structures, but she didn't know how many.

potters also reported a tornado near Dunkerton, about 40 miles east of Parkersburg, that they said caused considerable damage and flung debris as it moved east at 23 mph. 

Marble-sized hail fell over Waterloo, where authorities reported significant damage to homes, trees and power lines, according to CNN.
Funnel clouds were also spotted in suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota, and northern Texas.  The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado in Hugo, just north of Minneapolis. 

A Hugo official told The Associated Press that one person has died and 20 are missing after the severe storm tore through the St. Paul, Minnesota, suburb. 

Authorities also reported twisters in nearby Coon Rapids and Blain.
