HAYNESVILLE SHALE: 6-10-08 City of Shreveport Presents Mineral Leasing Public ForumsIn an effort to provide information and a solid understanding for residents of Shreveport and Caddo Parish, Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover is hosting two Public Information Meetings. The public is invited to attend the two free informational forums called "Haynesville Shale 101" - Thursday June 12th from 6pm-8:30 pm and Saturday June 21st from 10am-12:30pm at the Shreveport Convention Center. Mayor Glover and a panel of proficient experts including homeowners and property owners who have had first-hand experience with the issues related to gas drilling and mineral leases will presemt the forums, followed by question and answer sessions.. “After visiting the Fort Worth, Texas area where the Barnett Shale has been in production for more than 10 years and hearing the pros and cons from city officials and property owners, it’s important that we provide an arena to communicate and disseminate valuable information on how residents can be knowledgeable and protect themselves from companies, some who take advantage of the fact that most people have little or no experience in mineral leasing,” says Mayor Glover. SPAR will provide light refreshments and fun activities for children while their parents attend the meeting. “I want to give everyone, parents, guardians and families every opportunity to attend the meetings. The Shreveport Convention Center is easily accessible, we’ll waive the parking fee in the garage and parents won’t have to worry about finding child care.” Haynesville Shale Public Information Meeting Dates & Times: Shreveport Convention Center 6-8:30 PM Shreveport Convention Center 10-12:30 PM |
