WASHINGTON, DC; SHREVEPORT, LA  (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town)  BREAKING POLITICS: 10am 7-1-08  The reaction to Gov. Bobby Jindal's veto of the Louisiana Legislature's pay raise bill was loud and clear from Wasington, DC to Shreveport-Bossier.  State Rep. Henry Burns, who voted against the bill, thinks it was a smart move by the Governor.

Meanwhile, in this press release, U.S. Sen. David Vitter said,
“I applaud Bobby on his legislative pay raise veto. It was clearly the right thing to do. He has kept his campaign promise and stopped a truly offensive measure from going forward."

Vitter concluded by saying, “Bobby has already passed dramatic ethics reform, job-creating tax cuts and workforce development, and real choice for families stuck in failing schools.  I hope all legislators reject political games and join him in building on this people's agenda."

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator voiced his opinion in favor of the Governor as well, saying that he thought the people deserved to be heard on this matter.  Click here for Prator's interview with Tom Pace.
