BREAKING 7-3-08 Bossier Teen Emma Meeks in Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Top 20 Finalists

CARTHAGE, TX (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING: MUSIC COMPETITION 9:30am 7-3-08  Everyone in Emma Meeks' family is smiling, because the 16 year-old singing sensation has made the cut as one of the Top 20 Finalists in the 2008 Texas Country Music Hall of Fame competition to be held in Carthage, Texas August 15th. 

From out of some 60 competitors (mainly adults) performing in Carthage, Texas Saturday, June 28th, in the division of non-professional vocalist with guitar or piano accompaniment (no bands), Emma finished strong,  according to her mother, Diane Long.

By making the cut of 20 singers,  Miss Meeks will now vie for the coveted “Top 5 Finalists” , all seeking the title of 2008  Grand Prize Winner. 
Trophies will also be awarded for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place Finalists.

That competition will be Friday, August 15th at what's referred to as "The Texas Showdown" in the Carthage Hall of Fame Museum.  

Emma recently finished Third in the Music City Rising Star Competition
Held in Nashville, Tenn. There were 250 total contestants accepted, about 50 of which competed in the 16 year-old category.

For those who would like to see and hear Miss Meeks in person, she will be performing Tuesday, July 15th at 4:00pm to 7:00pm, downtown at the Farmer’s Market in Festival Plaza, Shreveport, Louisiana. 

She is also scheduled for Saturday’s performance, July 26th from 8:00am to 12N at the Farmers Market.
