BREAKING 7-8-08 Grammy & Recording Academy Executives Hold Meeting for Local Musicians

SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace, Talk of the Town) BREAKING: MUSIC NEWS 11am 7-8-08  The public is invited today, July 8th to an informational gathering for professionals in the music industry hosted by the Recording Academy Memphis Chapter. 

The meeting is from 6p-8p tonight at the Robinson Film Center, 617 Texas Street, downtown Shreveport, Louisiana. Admission is free. 

This special Tuesday event is about the Recording Academy and its programs as well as the process behind the GRAMMY® Awards. 

In addition to the Grammy’s, The Recording Academy (formerly known as N.A.R.A.S.-National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) operates Music Cares which was on the ground in New Orleans immediately following Katrina writing millions of dollars in checks to aid misplaced musicians.

Grammy U is also a Recording Academy program that works with students.
 The seminar is seeking the public's suggestions about how the Academy can better serve the north Louisiana music community, network with fellow music professionals and enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
