BOSSIER CITY, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING POLITICS 9pm 7-9-08  John Kennedy whipped his campaign supporters into a frenzy tonight, as his statewide bus campaign for Senate stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bossier City.

Currently the State Treasurer for Louisiana, Kennedy was introduced by longtime friend, and newly-elected State Senator Buddy Shaw. Click here to listen to Kennedy's interview with the media.

Kennedy, a Republican, is seeking to upset incumbent Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu's bid for a third term on Capitol Hill.

He told the assembled audience, "If you want the same thing in Congress, vote for her (Landrieu), but, if you want change, I'm your man."  The "change" mantra seems to be the main platform in the "Kennedy for Senate" campaign.

The campaign rally stop at the Louisiana Boardwalk was filled with supporters, as well as other candidates for local, state and federal offices.
Seen in the crowd were Republicans John Fleming, Jeff Thompson, and Chris Gorman, all seeking Congressman Jim McCrery's District 4 seat.

Also present were Republicans Eddie Brossette and Craig Marcotte, seeking the District Judge seat vacated by Chief Judge Charles Scott.

Along with Sen. Shaw, local legislators watching and applauding Kennedy included State Representatives Jane Smith and Henry Burns of Bossier City.

Although he's not formally qualified as a candidate for the U.S. Senate, it's expected Kennedy will file by Friday, July 11th.
