SHREVEPORT, LA (By: Tom Pace, Executive Editor, Talk of the Town) BREAKING ECONOMIC NEWS: 2pm 7-25-08  Frank Westerman is adding $2 million to northwest Louisiana's "green" initiative, by exclusively locating and expanding his corrugated box manufacturing center, currently located in their Shreveport facility on Westport Avenue.

Click here to listen to Westerman's comments, followed by Harold Turner, Chmn. NW LA Economic Dev. Foundation, as recorded by Tom Pace from "The Talk of the Town".

The President/CEO of Wes-Pak, Inc., Westerman made the big economic  announcement in the conference room of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce this morning.  Meanwhile, West-Pak's distribution center will continue to be housed in Little Rock, Ark.

Back in 1990, Westerman patented his idea of a corrugated box that stores flat, (yet requires no assembly) into a multi-million dollar industry.
Because of the product's "pop-up" construction, it's not only easy to store, it's also environmentally-friendly, because it's easily biodegradable (unlike its styrofoam counterparts).
